Michele Nishioka

Executive Director, Co-Founder

Michele has been an elementary educator for over twenty years. Her heart has always been in ensuring that every student receives an excellent education. In Spring of 2018, she went to Cambodia on a short term mission. She fell in love with the country and the Khmer people. In November 2019, Michele felt called to start Bright Futures Cambodia. She is excited to follow God’s calling to use her passion, skills, and knowledge in education to share the gospel, provide educational opportunities, and give students brighter futures.

She believes that, in doing ministry in another country, we must take time to understand the history of the people. So, before beginning to support students and families in education through our non profit, BFC needed to ask questions and learn as much as possible about how education works in Cambodia. Chhunly Bin, whom she met through her time there, answered her many questions about his life of living in extreme poverty in Cambodia, how he was given the opportunity to pursue an education, and how it changed his life. It is at school that Chhunly was not only able to succeed academically, but where he also came to know the love of Jesus Christ.

Michele is thankful for Chhunly Bin who ensures that Bright Futures Cambodia (NGO) functions legally and logistically in Cambodia. She is also thankful to the many donors who have prayed for BFC and supported us financially. It is with their partnership and prayer that we have been able to carry out God’s work all the way across the world.
